opalescent was created as a subtle ode to my favorite flower, the highlander rainbow delphinium. i made this one specifically to have subtle pops of color, to add interest for the maker during the process and to create a garment that is visually intriguing but still very much not overwhelming to the eye.

opalescent is a beautiful variegated yarn with flowing pastel peridot green and white, with handpainted lilac purple and delphinium blue little rainbows in the skein! these skeins are painted by hand, and is a special technique which takes 4 hours of additional processing, hence the $2 upcharge. always worth it, promise! :) 🙌🏻

opalescent is dyed using methods to avoid pooling but should be alternated for best results, since it has medium sized color repeats. 

foundational info~

my colorways are always very consistent in tone, as each dye pigment is measured to the microgram, for accurate repeatability. my speckle placements are never random, and each skein is speckled carefully in certain placements for even distribution. speckles work like assigned pooling if you’re not careful with placements~ my colorways are designed for even speckle distribution.

about the photos~ my photos are not edited, they are taken under daylight mimicking studio lighting. while monitors can vary slightly, my photos are reliable. i’m so proud to say that out of thousands of skeins that have left my hands, not a single person has told me they didn’t look like the photos. i feel so proud about this!
