hello! i’m liz. let me tell you why my yarns are different 🩵
• my collegiate and professional background is in color theory, personal styling, and chemistry involving dyes and natural fibers. my education and skills benefit my work significantly. you are in such good hands here 🫶🏻
•my colorways are designed with their fabrics in mind first. i’m curious, have you ever bought that gorgeous skein of handdyed yarn and weren’t thrilled with how it pooled? or unintentionally striped? or was unevenly dyed and you were left with inches of pale or too deep color in the middle of your garment? or the colors clashed as you worked them up? or even worse, it wasn’t set properly and bled and ruined your colorwork project? mine are dyed intentionally to avoid all of these things. i studied how color placements and size of repeats translates from yarn to fabric and use specialized techniques i developed from lots and lots of testing. we spend far too long in our projects for yarn that doesn’t perform well. and handdyed is such an investment. anyone can dye yarn and all yarn looks good in a skein. mine perform well too. and i include a care card so you can ensure your yarn is handled in a protective way at home (because i often see influencers telling you to wash handdyed in lukewarm or hot water! no please, this will break the bonds! and care related things like that!) 🩵
• i think it’s important when you are ordering from an artist you are receiving art from the artist themselves. i do not have a team. my art is authentically mine and i could neither guarantee it is to my standards or feel like it was mine if i hired someone else to copy my work and send it out. all yarn is prepped, dyed, washed, conditioned, labeled and packaged with care by me, with multiple checks for quality throughout.
•every single person is welcome, wanted, and celebrated here. i donate frequently to places that do good and offer size inclusive pricing for my collections. it matters. 🌈
•my colorway photos are not edited. it’s far too common to open a package of handdyed yarn to see it looks a bit different from the photos, because they were edited to be more vibrant. mine are photographed under daylight mimicking studio light and not edited so you have reasonable expectations of what you are ordering.
•my bases are truly a cut above the rest. take a look at my base menu and see how much care and intention went into this selection, and also detailed explanations of the characteristics of the yarn, how it behaves over time, and recommendations for what it’s best for. and notes for those who are sensitive. i have a very wide selection so there’s something that feels great for everyone.
•with all of this said about my skills and attention to detail~ my yarn is still priced at industry standard! and i run affordability collections often because i believe in accessibility.
•most importantly~ your support goes very far. my husband was injured in the marine corps and is 100% permanently and totally disabled. we have five children. the support from my community has helped him receive the care he’s needed for his injuries for years now. it is so important to tell people the impact they make on someone else. the support of my community has improved our entire family’s quality of life and i could never express my gratitude. thank you so much for supporting my family. it makes a difference. xx liz 🩵
A synopsis of recent giving back!
*upcoming~ a fundraiser to support a long time friend in a domestic violence situation.
*breast cancer donation colorways will be back in october!
September 2025~ I'm almost speechless about our Palestine Fundraiser... in one weekend-a group of 12 designers and myself raised a total of $37,000 for UNICEF and one other charity, both aiding Palestine. I offered my in stock- 100% profits to UNICEF- and was able to contribute $1,300 USD to this mission. I am so incredibly grateful for the way you showed up for Palestine. FREE PALESTINE!
October 2025~ I've designed two stunning pink themed colorways in honor of my loved one and all of the strong women who have fought or are fighting against breast cancer. We donated 50% of profits from these two colorways to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, totaling $328. Thank you so much for your support!
